Style Week Pittsburgh was founded in 2013 with a mission to help designers and creatives thrive by raising their visibility and fostering a more inclusive environment.   Since its inception, SWP has helped to raise the profile of fashion in Pittsburgh and has helped fashion to be recognized as an art form through its programming and signature annual events, which include Fashion Shows, the Style Awards, and a Business of Fashion Brunch.

SWP’s events have attracted more than 2,000 attendees, the works of over 150 designers and creatives have been showcased, and 84 creative professionals have been recognized and awarded for their accomplishments. Creatives awarded include Founder of FashionAfricana: Demeatria Boccella; Makeup Artist: Linda Webster; Maker: Nisha Blackwell, Stylist: LaMont Jones, Fashion Designer Lana Neumeyer, and Anthony Jefferson,  Owner of Mark Anthony Hair Salon. SWP has gained international media attention and in 2019, Mayor Peduto made August 16, Style Week Pittsburgh Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
